Problem
The Climate Change Act stipulates that the U.K. government must reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050; this will require individuals, the government and businesses to continuously commit to sustainability. Unfortunately, each stakeholder continues to wait for the other stakeholders to take action first, leading to delays in when this goal can be met. Focusing on individuals, information on sustainability is lacking and individuals feel they cannot do anything to make a sufficient impact, or alternatively, without requiring huge compromises. Additionally, there is a lack of a collective platform to share sustainable experiences and solutions.
Proposal
The goal of our proposal is to encourage individuals to take responsibility for a sustainable transition. We are proposing an interactive website that aims to increase awareness and accessibility to information of how individuals could aid sustainability.
We aim to suggest a range of mitigation options that require different levels of commitment from individuals. Incorporating interactive elements, such as a way for users to log their actions and see those of other people, would also help to inspire and motivate people to get involved. This website could further be expanded to include information about current social innovation projects as well as options for businesses.
With any project it is important to consider ethical consideration and a stakeholder analysis as part of our initial proposal. These are from the perspective of businesses (e.g. advertisements to promote sustainability), users (e.g. access to information on what they can do) and the government (e.g. a source of information on the efforts made by the population).

Hello I am Lars your mentor and I am looking forward to a great collaboration
I had a look at your problem and you solution and I have a couple of questions and some food for thought:
How many approaches/platforms/websites/organisations, if any, have you found which support this idea and how do you think this would be different from yours? ... or what could you learn from them?
How do you plan to get stakeholders/investors involved or on board?
How would the website concept work? ,... do you have different owners of an idea and these owners would look for certain skillsets neccessary to drive the idea forward, and so create a project team?
This was just something as a start to kick-off the conversation.
Great idea though.
cheers
Lars
